Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque

SKU OMN-002

A nice way to spend an afternoon while in Muscat, Oman, the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is a uniquely modern take on Islamic architecture. The smooth stone, high arches and finely carved features made the place feel like something out of Star Wars.

Muscat in general is a cool town with a big silver trade and the smell of frankincense everywhere you go – I still burn it regularly at home several years later (I bought like 1.5kg of frankincense in the souqs in Muscat). And next time you see me in Oman, it means I ran out – and I literally will fly there to buy more.

We were engaged by a friendly member of the staff who invited us to try tea and a snack. A memorably delightful conversation about the mosque and Islam ensued – great experience and sharing of cultures.

Getting the shot: This is an HDR panorama comprised of 18 photos. At a whopping 8,247 x 16,494 pixels (136 million dots), this thing was born for large formats.

After experimenting with several different printers and types of prints, and speaking with about a dozen different fine art photography gallery owners around the world to pry for their sources, I’ve chosen to work with a renowned print shop in the US who produces superior gallery-level prints. These are statement pieces with superior detail, rich pigments and gloss finishes that will not fade or yellow over time. I have tried several cheaper alternatives, and I feel that these prints best represent my work and will last for years to come.

All prints come with hardware for hanging and do not need any additional framing or components to be ready for display.

Canvas Prints are professional 1 1/2″ thick gallery-wrapped canvas wall art prints. A wire hanger is included as the standard option because they hang perfectly flush to the wall; a sawtooth hanger is a second option (by request only).

Fujiflex Silver Halide Prints use a process inspired by traditional darkroom photography, where light exposure activates unique silver halide crystals in the pigment. Chemical development then reveals the image with unmatched clarity, vibrant color, and smooth, continuous tones. If you’re wondering which print is best, this one is best.

Contact me directly if you desire a frame, specific size or specific editing style.

Allow 7-14 days for processing and production, and 5-7 days for shipping. If you desire a wooden crate or have questions, please ask here.

Due to the print and shipping costs, all sales are final. However, if you have any issues with your print(s), simply let me know and I will work directly with the printer to resolve any issues.
